Client Project: Creating an Easy to Maintain Pantry

This was such a fun project for a pantry & kitchen in Richmond, Virginia! our client is a busy mom of multiple kiddos. Our goal was to make this pantry as stylish as the client herself.

The fact that the pantry offered ample space and already had some beautiful bins to work with was a great starting point.

It made sense for us to focus on creating efficient systems and zones within the pantry. we took into consideration that our client often shops in bulk for her kid’s snacks, she loves to make smoothies and she is health conscious.

Zoning

We started by clearing out the entire pantry and categorizing the food. we created zones in places that made sense in the pantry. some of our zones included kid’s snacks, baking, breakfast, & dinner prep.

Smoothie area

Since smoothies are made daily for our client, we decided to move the smoothie ingredients out of the pantry and into a cabinet above where the blender is stored in the kitchen. this will make smoothie prep even easier since there is a designated area.

Kid-friendly

We placed frequently consumed snack items within reach of the children. we used clear bins to make it easy for the KIDS to see the snacks and easy for mom to see when things are running low!

Bulk storage

We made sure that the bins that we used had room to grow for the next time our client does a bulk shopping trip.

Labeling

This is an essential step to MAINTAINING an organized pantry for a busy family. labeling ensures that everything has a designated spot. It makes it easier FOR the family to know where everything is in the pantry as well as being able to quickly unload the groceries in their designated area.

In the kitchen, we made some strategic changes to the cabinets and drawers to ENHANCE functionality for our client and her family. By swapping and REORGANIZING the existing storage spaces, we were able to create a more intuitive and efficient kitchen layout. we kept in mind the specific needs and habits of this family to customize the kitchen storage to suit their lifestyle and make cooking and meal preparation a more enjoyable experience for them.
