When you’re a busy mom of littles, your kitchen can become the command center of your home. For our client in the city of Richmond, this was the case. She and her family needed a space that was not only home for a functional pantry and organized kitchen cabinets, but her kids’ crafting supplies, laundry, and a small office space to keep track of the family calendar, mail, and important documents. We brought in our team to accomplish these goals and we’re thrilled with the results!
Here’s a look at how we tackled this project:
We began by sorting everything in the kitchen and pantry area. This included going through each cabinet, drawer, and shelf. With a wide variety of items from cooking/food to crafting/office/laundry this was a big job so our team divided and conquered to efficiently group and categorize items.
We checked expiration dates on food items and got rid of anything that was expired. We also donated any duplicate items, as well as items the family was no longer using. This created space for a more organized and functional space.
We brought in several products to contain everything and created easy to use systems for the pantry, crafting area, as well as the kitchen and office drawers and cabinets. We love using clear bins for the pantry so all food items are easy to locate and pull out. An over the door Elfa rack fit perfectly on a closet to contain crafting supplies for the kids. Bamboo drawer dividers really maximize kitchen drawer space. For the office drawers, multi sized drawer organizers help contain all the items you need to grab quickly from rubber bands to pens.
