This was a moving project for a family relocating to Richmond, Virginia, from another state. They contacted the Tidyish team because they wanted their playroom to be unpacked and ready before their actual move, so that their children would have a safe and organized space during the chaos of moving!
Typically, we love it when our clients are home during our organizing sessions so that we can ask them questions about their items, especially when it comes to editing. However, we understand that it’s not always possible, and we totally get it! Often, people are working or, in this case, our client wasn’t even in Richmond while we were in their new home! Although it can make things a little more challenging for us to make certain decisions, it’s something we are comfortable with!
When we arrived, we found the boxes for the playroom waiting for us. We unpacked and categorized them, discarding any broken toys and dried-up art supplies.
We made use of the existing built-in shelves to house most of the toys. Additionally, there was a closet in the space where, as per our client’s request during the consultation, we created an area for toy surplus. This allowed for toys to be rotated at a later time, keeping the playroom from becoming overly cluttered. In this closet, we also kept those messy art supplies out of reach of little hands!
